Equinor ASA (EQNR.OS) said Thursday that a suspected oil spill in open water near its damaged oil terminal in the Bahamas has now been confirmed as a patch of seaweed.

The company added that aerial surveillance has picked up another suspect area offshore and results are being processed.

"Currently, there are no indications that the terminal is the source for this," it said.

The Norwegian oil company's South Riding Point oil storage and transshipment terminal on Grand Bahama island was damaged last week when Hurricane Dorian passed through the island, causing oil spills on land. However, the company said Thursday that no oil is leaking from the terminal.
