Procter & Gamble Co. (PG) on Thursday said it will more than double the amount of recycled plastic it uses in packaging for its household cleaning brands in Europe by early next year.

P&G said it will convert more than 300 million bottles of cleaning products a year to either 100%-recycled or partially recycled plastic.

The consumer-products giant also said it will make all surface cleaning wipes from 100% recycled fiber.

P&G said brands Fairy, Flash and Viakal will increase the use of recycled plastic to 9,000 metric tons of post-consumer resin and post-industrial resin, replacing virgin plastic in the supply chain, as the Cincinnati company works to boost the use of recycled content across all of its business lines by 50% by 2030.
