Renault SA's (RNO.FR) board of directors on Friday decided to remove Chief Executive Thierry Bollore and replace him with Clotilde Delbos, appointed as interim CEO.

The change is effective immediately, the French auto group said Friday.

Ms. Delbos will be interim CEO until a new chief executive is appointed.

The board also appointed Olivier Murguet and Jose Vincente de los Mozos as Deputy Managing Directors to support the new CEO.

Mr. Bollore had taken the position in January, shortly after the arrest of Carlos Ghosn in November last year. The alliance between Renault and Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. (7201.TO) has been through stormy waters since then. The Japanese car maker recently replaced Chief Executive Hiroto Saikawa and said the company will be led by a three-person team.
