Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) reported a boiler shutdown and gas
emissions due to an operational disruption at its refinery in
Beaumont, Texas.
"Process upset resulting in boiler shutdown," the refinery said
in a statement to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
"Operations personnel have restored normal operations. The refinery
anticipates no impact to production and continues to meet
contractual agreements."
It said the incident resulted in above-normal emissions of
gases, including carbon monoxide, that began Tuesday and lasted
nearly nine hours.
The 362,000-barrel-a-day Beaumont refinery lies 90 miles east of
Houston.
