Dominion Energy Inc. (D) on Thursday said it acquired a pair of solar generating projects with 95 megawatts of generating capacity in Virginia from Savion LLC, a unit of Macquarie Group Ltd.'s (MQG.AU) Green Investment Group Ltd.

Dominion said power generated at the two sites, as well as the renewable energy credits, will go to telecommunications company T-Mobile US Inc. (TMUS) under long-term contracts.

Dominion, a Richmond, Va., provider of electricity and natural gas, said it expects the facilities will be operational in next year.

Dominion, which last year said it planned to add 3,000 megawatts of solar and wind generation to Virginia's electric grid by the end of 2022, said it has now announced plans or power-purchase agreements for about 675 megawatts, or 20% of its target.
